This site is operated by Bungalow, LLC, a California limited liability company trading as Santa Barbara Luxury Rental. We let eighteen privately owned residences in downtown Santa Barbara. This policy explains what we collect when you browse the site, send an enquiry, stay with us or pay us, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you use an enquiry form, email us or call, we receive your name, your email address, your telephone number, the dates and party size you are asking about, and anything else you choose to write.
- Your booking. If you book, we keep the guest names, contact details, stay dates, the property, the agreed rate and balance, and the signed rental agreement.
- Your payment. Card payments are taken by Stripe on Stripe’s own form. Card numbers, security codes and billing addresses are entered directly into Stripe and never reach this site or our servers. We receive only the amount, the outcome, the last four digits and the card brand.
- Ordinary technical records. Our hosting and security providers log the IP address, browser and pages requested for each visit, in order to serve the site and to block abuse.
Cookies and measurement
We use the Google tag so that we can tell which advertisements lead to a telephone call or an enquiry. It sets cookies in your browser and reports the event to Google Ads. We do not use it to build a profile of you for anyone else, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anybody.
Property pages embed a public Google Calendar so that you can see which dates are open. Loading that calendar is a request to Google and is subject to Google’s own privacy policy. You can control how Google personalises advertising to you at myadcenter.google.com, and most browsers will let you refuse or delete cookies entirely.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and to quote for the dates you asked about.
- To arrange, confirm and run your stay, and to send arrival details and receipts.
- To take payment, to issue refunds, and to keep the records the law requires of us.
- To keep the site working, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to measure our advertising.
Who else sees it
We share personal information only with the services that let us run the business, and only so far as each one needs it: Stripe for card payments, our email provider for the messages and receipts we send you, Google for advertising measurement and for the availability calendars, and Cloudflare, Vercel, Neon and Cloudflare R2 for hosting, delivery and storage. We also disclose information where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while they are still useful to us and then deleted. Booking, payment and tax records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires, which in California is generally at least four years.
Your rights
Write to BungalowDowntown@gmail.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we are not required to keep it. If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, so there is nothing for you to opt out of.
Children
This site is meant for adults booking accommodation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security and changes
The site is served only over HTTPS, card details are handled by Stripe rather than by us, and access to guest records is restricted to the people who run the properties. No system is perfect, and we will tell you if a breach affects you and the law requires notice. If we change this policy we will change the date below.
